in a wild turn of events, it turns out there are several other japan trippers that are also seattlits. i think this piece of news has both its positives and negatives. from the positive side, actually knowing someone from my hometown will probably help when the crushing waves of home sickness wash away my reason for traveling to japan like all those little children that run to pick up fish on the exposed beach when the tsunami draws near.... run on sentence...
on the downside, i think the experience of complete displacement; of actually being picked up by my shirt collar (bottom) and placed by the hand of god (Boeing 777) into something straight out of heroes (Tokyo); could be diluted.
we shall see
im meeting them at Starbucks on Tuesday.. how very seattlish.
